Practical ramifications of being a part of a management system Governance -> management is an office of governance; therefore, there will be some natural divisions between those being governed, and those governing. Also, inside of companies, different system domains will occasionally collide.
Domain -> In our example, the chef ruled the creation-of-award-winning-food domain; but, the staff ruled the order fulfillment, customer experience domain.
Knowledge -> to be effective, managers must have aptitude and exposure across time in the domains they are managing, otherwise they will cause chaos.
Development -> whereas you can’t always get your staff regular merit increases (uncle Vinny wants his condo), you can always work to strengthen their careers!
Sustainable -> systemically overdriving staff is not sustainable and leads to underperformance relative to sustainable systems; it’s also a form of abuse.
